For a publicity photograph, promoter Sam Becker hit the streets for some roadwork with his fighter Ronnie Wulf. It looks like it may have been the first exercise Becker had in a while. Except for just an occasional bout out of town, Wulf fought his entire career in the Cincinnati area. (Photograph courtesy of Buddy LaRosa.)

Welterweight Al Diaz was another post−World War II fighter that the Becker brothers managed. Born in Mexico, Diaz moved to Cincinnati to train and box. In his first years here, from 1946 to 1947, Diaz compiled a record of only 4-7, lacking the power he needed to dominate rounds. (Photograph courtesy of Buddy LaRosa.)
